ROGATICA RECEIVES NEW TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

Ahead of the peak tourist season, Rogatica has introduced a new hiking trail stretching almost eight kilometers through the stunning landscapes of the Starogorski Cliffs and the Drina Canyon.

Named "Thematic Educational Trail Stara Gora - Vidikovac Grabovače," this trail belongs to the village of Stara Gora in the Borike local community. It was completed thanks to the "Thematic Trails of the Republic of Srpska" project.

Predrag Ujić, Director of the Rogatica Tourist Organization, stated that activities related to the establishment of this trail have been ongoing since 2000, with the final touches being made in recent months with the support of the Republic of Srpska Tourist Organization and the "Sjemeć" Forest Management. Through volunteer work, the trail was cleared, grass was mowed, and larger stones were removed.

Along the trail, which runs through the forest, sanitary felling of trees, branch trimming, and the removal of potentially dangerous trees were carried out. Additionally, two educational-informative boards about the natural and cultural-historical landmarks of the Borike plateau were acquired and installed. Eight signposts were also put in place - said Ujić.
