On Monday, June 16th, the town of Mrkonjić Grad will once again transform into a vibrant hub of joy, music, and celebration.
The beloved "Mrkonjić Carnival" will take over the streets, officially opening the annual "Mrkonjić Summer 2025" – a festival that brings together thousands of visitors from across the region every year.
The festivities begin at 7:30 PM with a gathering at King Petar I Karađorđević Square, where a cheerful parade filled with masks, drummers, and dancers will begin its journey toward Serbian Army Square at 8:00 PM. There, the audience will be welcomed not by a formal announcement, but by the emotional voices of the "Mali Princ" City Choir, performing the song "Hymn to the City" – a symbolic musical prelude to a summer filled with events.
The official part of the evening continues with an address from Zoran Anđelić, Director of the Cultural and Sports Center “Petar Kočić,” followed by the formal opening of "Mrkonjić Summer 2025" by Dragan Vođević, Mayor of Mrkonjić Grad.
A musical block performed by the City Choir will follow, featuring lively and heartfelt songs such as "Čardaš," "Love to Be Loved," and "I Wish." The energy of the evening will rise even higher with an open-air zumba performance by the “Violeta” Dance School, led by instructors Violeta and Zdravka.
If you’re seeking a magical start to your summer filled with rhythm, color, and community spirit – Mrkonjić Grad is the place to be!
