More than 50 boats with numerous nature lovers from Foča and the surrounding area participated in the "Drina Adventure," a regatta along the initial course of this river, from the Rafting Center Bastasi to Foča, and then to its confluence with the Ćehotina.
Sunny weather and favorable water levels contributed to the crystal clear Drina and its sandy beaches shining in full beauty.
Goran Nešić from Zrenjanin said he came from Banat to experience the charm of the Drina at its initial course, as he had previously participated in regattas in Bajina Bašta and Ljubovija.
- This is my first time at the Drina Adventure, and the impressions are exceptional. You can feel a family atmosphere and a different approach to the river, preserving the river and nature in general. It's a calm descent focused on family enjoyment, for which I give special recognition to the organizers, said Nešić.
Nisveta Bajlović from Sarajevo is attending the Drina Adventure for the third time and says it gets better each time.
- Whoever hasn't come yet should definitely come, they don't know what they're missing—adrenaline, nature, beauty, organization. I am a child of the Drina and Ćehotina, so I didn't miss the chance to swim in the Drina again this time. We also brought a team from Germany, and they are coming next year too, said Bajlović, who is originally from Foča.
Luka Lučić, one of the skippers—rubber boat drivers, says that unlike the Tara, the Drina is suitable for a gentle family descent.
It is recommended for younger and older people alike, for a gentle descent on these hot days, said Lučić.
With the "Drina Adventure," its organizer, the Foča Movement, has been striving since 2017 to promote the initial course of the Drina—the cleanest and, according to many, the most beautiful part—from Šćepan Polje, where it forms by merging the Tara and Piva, to Foča, the first town on this river.
