The renowned Derventa Fair, one of the oldest and most cherished events in the region, will be held for the 174th time this year, taking place from August 27 to 30 in the picturesque town on the banks of the Ukrina River.
According to the event’s organizing committee, the fair will officially begin on August 27 at 5 PM, and continue until August 30, with festivities wrapping up in the early hours of August 31 (until 2 AM). Visitors will once again be able to stroll through the well-known “Derventa Street”, located on the left side of the Old Bridge, as in previous years.
The fairgrounds will be filled with a wide variety of culinary, hospitality, and entertainment offerings for all generations. In keeping with the fair’s rich historical roots, the celebration will begin a day earlier, on Tuesday, August 26 at 7 PM, at the very site where it all began in 1851 – near the Old Church.
Since 2021, the Derventa Fair has been officially listed as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Srpska, recognizing its cultural significance and enduring legacy.
Preparations for this major event, including all necessary infrastructure, are once again being managed by the municipal company "Komunalac", with organizational support provided by the Tourist Organization of Derventa.
Adding even more meaning to the celebration, the City of Derventa will mark its City Day on August 28, while the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God (Velika Gospojina) remains the patron saint's day of the Cathedral Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
Derventa invites all guests, near and far, to be a part of this vibrant celebration of history, tradition, and community spirit!
