CICELJ NATURE PARK - A HIDDEN GEM NEAR ČAJNIČE

Cicelj Nature Park is located in the eastern part of Republika Srpska, right next to Čajniče, on the northern slopes of the Kovač massif.

The park covers more than 300 hectares, with state-owned forests making up over half of its territory. The management of this protected area is entrusted to the forestry company “Vučevica” from Čajniče.

Cicelj Nature Park captivates visitors with its diverse scenery – from steep cliffs and gorges to gentle meadows and forest clearings. The highest peak, Stražica, rises to 1,432 meters, while the lowest points descend to 768 meters, creating an impressive elevation range and dynamic terrain.

A special feature of this area is the Janjina River, which has carved a narrow gorge through the rocks, giving the landscape a dramatic, almost cinematic appearance. On the northern side, the Orlovačke Rocks stand out as a striking natural formation that further emphasizes the wild beauty of this region.

Cicelj is, above all, a kingdom of forests. Tall beech and fir forests dominate, along with dense coniferous communities that create an atmosphere similar to a mountain taiga.
