Republika Srpska welcomed a total of 343,984 tourists during the first eight months of this year, who collectively recorded 821,763 overnight stays. This represents a 5% increase in arrivals and a 2.4% rise in overnight stays compared to the same period last year, the Tourist Organization of Srpska told SRNA.
Mountain resorts recorded a 6.5% increase in overnight stays, while spa destinations saw a growth of 2.7%. On average, guests stayed for 2.4 days.
As in previous years, the highest number of visits came from domestic tourists, followed by visitors from neighboring countries – Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, and Montenegro. Among other international markets, notable numbers came from Turkey, Germany, Austria, China, and Italy.
The Tourist Organization emphasized that domestic tourists primarily chose spa resorts for their stays, where the majority of overnight stays were recorded.
