Banja Luka has gained another attractive destination with the opening of its first Dino Park, located within the newly developed Krčmarice recreational zone.
The new outdoor space has already attracted numerous
visitors, especially children and families, who have enjoyed spending time
together, exploring the park and relaxing in nature.
With further development and the introduction of new
facilities, the aim is for Krčmarice to become one of Banja Luka’s favourite
destinations for family outings, sports, recreation and time spent outdoors,
while also becoming a new point of interest on the city’s tourist map.
THE FIRST PHASE OF A LARGER RECREATIONAL ZONE
Speaking at the opening of the Dino Park, Banja Luka Mayor
Daško Stanivuković said that the project represents only the beginning of the
development of the new recreational zone.
“This is only the first phase. Sports fields, children’s
playgrounds and outdoor gyms are next, while an Adrenaline Park is also planned
in the future,” Stanivuković said.
The further development of Krčmarice is intended to create a
diverse range of outdoor activities for residents and visitors, while giving
families more opportunities to spend quality time in nature.
A NEW PLACE FOR FAMILIES AND VISITORS
City Project Manager Milada Šukalo said one of the main
goals of the project is to make quality recreational facilities accessible to
residents across Banja Luka, while also creating a destination that can attract
visitors from other parts of the city and the wider region.
“Banja Luka is a geographically large city, which is why we
need to take care of every part of its territory. Through this project, we
wanted to provide residents of rural and suburban areas with a space where they
can spend their free time in a quality way, while also offering residents from
urban neighbourhoods a new place for a day trip and time in nature,” Šukalo
said.
The Krčmarice recreational zone is therefore designed not
only for local residents, but also as a place where visitors can discover a
different side of Banja Luka, away from the city centre.
MORE REASONS TO STAY LONGER IN BANJA LUKA
According to Šukalo, the further development of Krčmarice is
also intended to enrich Banja Luka’s tourism offer and create additional
reasons for visitors to extend their stay in the city.
“Banja Luka is recording record visitor numbers, but there
is still room for improvement when it comes to overnight stays and the length
of tourists’ visits. Through projects like this, together with the facilities
we have developed along the Vrbas River and on Banj Brdo, we want to offer
guests more opportunities to spend an entire day in our city and discover its
different areas,” she said.
The development of new recreational and outdoor attractions
is part of the broader effort to diversify Banja Luka’s tourism offer and
encourage visitors to explore destinations beyond the city’s best-known
attractions.
KRČMARICE AS A FUTURE TOURIST DESTINATION
Šukalo also said that Krčmarice is expected to become part
of the programmes offered by tourist agencies in the future, attracting
visitors not only from Republika Srpska but also from across the region.
The newly opened Dino Park is thus the first step in the
development of a larger recreational area that will combine family activities,
sports, entertainment and nature.
With new facilities planned for the coming period, Krčmarice
has the potential to become another place where both residents and tourists can
experience Banja Luka in a relaxed and active way.
