PORTUGAL TO HOST THE WORLD'S BEST TOURISM FILM AWARDS CEREMONY

The annual World Tourism Film Awards, now in its 37th edition, will for the first time take place in Guimarães, Portugal, on December 4 and 5.

The event is organized by the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT) and the Municipality of Guimarães, with support from Turismo do Porto e Norte de Portugal.

These prestigious awards honor the best audiovisual productions in tourism, highlighting the growing importance of video as a strategic tool for promoting destinations, products, and tourism services.

The ceremony will be held at Teatro Jordão, bringing together tourism professionals, creative agencies, production houses, and media from around the globe, along with guests from Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Poland, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colombia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Greece, Morocco, and other countries.

Every year, more than 4,000 promotional videos from nearly 50 countries compete in the CIFFT Circuit, the world’s leading competition dedicated to tourism-related audiovisual content.

“The World Tourism Film Awards represent the pinnacle of the year in tourism audiovisual communication. Northern Portugal is recognized for its rich heritage, natural diversity, and capacity for innovation, and in Guimarães we have found the perfect stage to celebrate the best productions of the year,” said Alexander V. Kammel, CIFFT Director.
