INTERNATIONAL ECONOMY FAIR IN BRČKO BRINGS TOGETHER MORE THAN 120 EXHIBITORS

The 20th International Economy Fair has opened in Brčko, bringing together more than 120 exhibitors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, the Czech Republic and Türkiye.

The fair covers 2,250 square metres of exhibition space at the City Park plateau and will run until October 3.

RECORD SUPPORT FOR THE ECONOMY

Brčko District Mayor Siniša Milić said at the opening ceremony that the anniversary edition of the fair demonstrates the strength and competitiveness of the local economy, noting that more than 4,500 businesses operate in the district.

“This year, Brčko allocated a record BAM 17 million in incentives for the economy. Together with political stability and the completed revitalisation of the Port of Brčko, we are creating a favourable environment for new investments and further economic development,” Milić said.

President of the Brčko District Chamber of Commerce Velibor Jakić said this year's event is the most successful edition so far in terms of both the number of exhibitors and its overall scale.

He added that the existing venue has reached its capacity, highlighting the need to build a permanent exhibition centre and provide systematic budget funding for future editions of the fair.

STRENGTHENING REGIONAL BUSINESS CONNECTIONS

President of the Brčko District Assembly Damir Bulčević said the fair provides an important opportunity for local companies to establish direct connections with regional business partners.

He also announced plans for the Economy Fair and Business Forum to be organised as two separate events starting next year.

President of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zdravko Martinović highlighted Brčko's strategic transport position and its importance as a logistics hub connecting markets towards Serbia and the European Union.

Brčko Supervisor Louis Crishock wished participants successful business talks and greater trade cooperation.

The fourth Business Forum is also being held as part of the 20th International Economy Fair.
