As holiday prices continue to rise across many Adriatic destinations, an increasing number of tourists are looking for places that offer an affordable vacation without putting too much strain on their household budgets.

Among the destinations standing out this summer for their reasonable prices is the Montenegrin seaside resort of Sutomore, which many consider one of the cheapest holiday spots on the Adriatic coast.

According to Blic, an apartment in Sutomore can be rented for as little as 40 BAM per night, while other daily expenses remain relatively low.

A cup of coffee costs around 3 BAM, while breakfast can be found for approximately 8 BAM.

Prices on the beaches have also remained affordable. A set of two sun loungers and an umbrella generally costs between 20 and 30 BAM per day, depending on the location and the beach bar offering the service.

A Strategy Without Major Price Hikes

Local hospitality providers and accommodation owners say their goal is to maintain competitive prices and attract as many visitors as possible rather than maximize short-term profits through significant price increases.

Such a strategy could help Sutomore remain one of the preferred destinations for tourists from the region this year as well.

A Significant Difference Compared to Popular Resorts

The contrast becomes particularly noticeable when compared with Croatia’s most sought-after destinations. While affordable accommodation can still be found in Sutomore, apartment prices in Dubrovnik or on Hvar during peak season often reach several hundred BAM per night and, in some cases, exceed 2,000 BAM.

Neum in Bosnia and Herzegovina also remains one of the more affordable seaside destinations, but Sutomore is still frequently cited as one of the most budget-friendly resorts on the entire Adriatic coast.

Tourists Increasingly Focus on Value for Money

Rising living costs and inflation are having a significant impact on travel decisions, prompting more tourists to compare prices carefully and seek the best value for their money.

Tourism professionals point out that proximity to the sea is no longer the only factor influencing destination choices. Visitors are increasingly looking for quality amenities and reasonable prices.

A similar trend can be observed elsewhere in the region. In Croatia, many property owners have kept last year's prices unchanged or increased them only slightly in order to remain competitive, while Albania continues to attract a growing number of tourists thanks to its more favorable prices compared with some other Mediterranean destinations.
