DERVENTA GETS ONE OF THE MOST MODERN SCHOOL BUILDINGS IN THE REGION

Derventa now has a fully reconstructed and equipped “Nikola Tesla” Primary School, with approximately BAM 7.2 million invested in the renovation and equipment of the building.

The school was damaged in an earthquake at the end of 2020, and due to the age of the building, extensive reconstruction was necessary to provide students and teachers with safe and modern conditions.

ORIGINAL ARCHITECTURE PRESERVED

Special attention was paid to preserving the building’s authentic appearance, as the school is included on the list of protected monuments.

For this reason, its exterior appearance was not altered. The façade was restored to resemble the original one, while new lighting and modern facilities were introduced to meet the needs of students and the educational process.

Following the reconstruction, Derventa has gained one of the most modern school facilities in the region while preserving the building’s architectural and historical value.

BAM 7.2 MILLION INVESTED IN RENOVATION AND EQUIPMENT

The Government of Republika Srpska allocated approximately BAM 7.2 million for the renovation and equipment of the school.

The reconstructed building was officially opened by Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić, Minister of Education and Culture Borojеvić Golubović, Derventa Mayor Igor Žunić and school principal Ljubiša Đurić, together with the students.
