The first Derventa Book Fair, “Derbook,” will take place from May 11 to 13 at the Derventa Cultural Center, which is also the organizer of the event. The partner of the fair is Kulturabox.
The fair will be officially opened by writer
Uroš Petrović, while the first day will also feature Nenad Gugl, one of today’s
most sought-after authors, who will present his book “21 Golden Bars.”
On the second day, visitors will hear from
Vlada Arsić, who will deliver an educational lecture on the dangers of the
internet for young people, as well as Aleksa Gajić, known for his illustrations
in Politikin Zabavnik
The third day of the fair will feature a
conversation with actor Zlatan Vidović.
Organization partner Milijana Bojić emphasized
that Derventa deserves such an event and announced the participation of 13
exhibitors. Among them are publishing houses such as Službeni Glasnik, Zavod za
udžbenike i nastavna sredstva Istočno Sarajevo, Pčelica, Booka, Imprimatur,
Biblioner, Deveta dimenzija, the Association of Publishers of Republika Srpska,
BIT izdavaštvo, as well as Lotos, Kultura, Gatarić, and the Derventa Cultural
Center with a stand dedicated to local authors.
Director of the Cultural Center, Mirjana Plisnić, expressed satisfaction that the institution has the opportunity to host such an event, which will present the city in the best possible way while attracting numerous visitors.
Mayor of Derventa, Igor Žunić, voiced hope
that the fair will become a traditional event in the years to come, gathering
lovers of the written word.
“Derventa deserves an event like this, and we
are becoming a serious city of culture. I believe this will be an important
event not only for us, but for the entire region,” Žunić said, inviting
students, citizens, and literature enthusiasts to visit “Derbook.”
Visitors can expect a rich program, meetings
with renowned writers, illustrators, and actors, as well as an opportunity to
connect with both local and regional publishers.
