National Library “Branko Radičević”, which also operates the Homeland Museum, has once again prepared a diverse and engaging programme for this year’s Museum Night 2026, scheduled to take place on May 23 starting at 8 p.m.
Visitors
can expect an evening filled with art, culture, tradition, and creative
activities designed for all generations. The opening of the programme will
feature a musical performance, while younger visitors will have the opportunity
to enjoy specially prepared activities and social gatherings.
The central part of this year’s programme will be the spatial installation “Connectedness of the Threads of Life” by artist Jelena Bardak. Through a contemporary artistic expression, the installation explores the invisible connections that shape human experience and the relationships between people, time, and memory.
As part of the event, visitors will also be able to see the exhibition “Ivo Andrić – Nobel Laureate,” created by Maja Dejanović, senior librarian from Gradiška.
The
exhibition follows the journey of Ivo Andrić, the region’s only Nobel
Prize-winning author, to the global literary stage, including presentations of
digitized manuscripts from his famous novel The Bridge on the Drina.
Visitors
will also have the opportunity to explore an exhibition of children’s artworks
created by students of Primary School “Nikola Tesla” under the mentorship of
Jelena Bardak, as well as the guest exhibition “Zmijanje Embroidery” by
Danijela Đukanović from Banja Luka. This exhibition will also include a film
screening and an embroidery workshop.
Throughout
the evening, visitors will be able to enjoy the permanent ethnological
exhibition of the Homeland Museum, offering insight into the rich cultural and
traditional heritage of the region.
