WHAT IS A VIA FERRATA OR IRON PATH

- Although terms like "secured mountain trail," "protected mountain trail," "iron path," or even "steel path" can also be used, our mountaineers typically refer to it by the original name "via ferrata" or simply "ferrata." This is the best option, as it’s a name that has been used for a long time and most accurately describes its purpose, explained the Tourist Organization of the Republic of Srpska.

One of the most popular and attractive ferratas is the "Sokolov put" (Eagle’s Path) on Romanija Mountain.

- Pleasant weather is expected in November, which means there will be more time to enjoy, say representatives from the Via ferrata Sokolov put page, adding that they can provide visitors with equipment, assistance, and licensed guides.
