Spring is the perfect time to travel - nature awakens, cities come to life, and the tourist season has not yet reached its peak. During this period, says travel content creator Vanja Stojanović for SeeSrpska, destinations show their most beautiful side.
“Spring is, without a doubt, the most beautiful time to travel. Everything gains a special charm – blooming parks, sunny days, and fewer crowds allow you to experience a destination in its authentic rhythm,” she points out.
When it comes to choosing destinations, Vanja prefers a combination of city and nature. She especially highlights Ljubljana, Bled, and Kranjska Gora as ideal spring locations.
“Ljubljana is perfect for relaxed walks and enjoying time by the river, Bled impresses with its lake and romantic atmosphere, while Kranjska Gora is ideal for nature lovers and mountain walks,” she says.
She also recommends the fairytale-like Hallstatt, while fans of urban elegance should visit Vienna and Budapest, which have a special charm in spring.
Among natural attractions, she singles out Plitvice Lakes National Park, which is especially beautiful during this time of year, with fewer crowds and more affordable entrance fees.
However, a special place on her list belongs to Banja Luka.
“There’s a reason people say spring is reserved for Banja Luka. Walks along the Vrbas River, sunny days, and that relaxed atmosphere make it truly special,” Stojanović told SeeSrpska.
For a perfect weekend getaway, she recommends Trieste, while Venice and Verona are ideal for romantic trips.
WHERE TO GO BY THE SEA IN SPRING?
After a long winter, many people crave sunshine and the sea. Vanja told SeeSrpska that several coastal towns are especially charming in spring.
“Perast, Rovinj, Opatija, and Split are places I always return to. It’s quieter, without crowds, but you can still feel the lively, authentic atmosphere,” she says.
Perast captivates with its peacefulness and stunning bay views, Rovinj enchants with its narrow streets and colorful houses by the sea, Opatija stands out for its year-round liveliness, while Split offers a unique blend of history and modern life.
