Final preparations are in full swing at the Children's Theatre of the Republic of Srpska, as the city gets ready to host the 24th International Festival of Children's Theatre, taking place from October 5 to 11.
Over
the course of seven days, the Main Stage and Small Stage of the national
theatre will welcome performances from 12 different countries, offering a total
of 14 shows that celebrate the art of contemporary puppetry and the innovative
use of technology in puppet design and production.
This year’s edition continues the proud tradition of presenting cutting-edge international theatre for young audiences, bringing diverse artistic expressions and cultural stories to the Banja Luka stage.
A
special highlight of the festival will be an exhibition honoring the legacy of
Živomir Joković, a legendary theatre director and one of the most influential
collaborators of the Children's Theatre of the Republic of Srpska. Joković was
also a founder and pillar of some of the most significant theatre festivals in
the former Yugoslavia.
The
festival not only aims to entertain but also to educate and inspire through the
transformative power of theatre arts. Banja Luka is once again proving itself
as a key cultural hub for youth and family audiences in the region.
