BANJA LUKA – Football Club Borac is marking its 100th anniversary in 2026, with the city celebrating the historic milestone through a series of events honoring one of the most successful and beloved sports clubs in Republika Srpska.
The
centenary celebrations have already included a ceremonial academy at the Banski
Dvor Cultural Centre, while a commemorative monograph, a historical exhibition
prepared by the Archives of Republika Srpska, and a documentary produced by
RTRS are also in the works.
The
central celebration for supporters will take place on July 3 at Krajina Square
in the heart of Banja Luka. The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the opening
of a fan zone, offering entertainment and activities for fans of all ages.
At 8:15 p.m., Borac will officially present its squad for the upcoming season, in which the club will compete in the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds for only the fourth time in its history.
Following
the team presentation, at 9:00 p.m., visitors will enjoy a concert featuring
Nele Karajlić and the Rock Symphony, along with several surprise guests,
according to the club.
Just
four days later, Borac will begin its European campaign by hosting Bulgarian
champions Levski Sofia in the first leg of the opening qualifying round for the
UEFA Champions League. The match will be played at the City Stadium in Banja
Luka, with kick-off scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
