A concert on the water, organized by Andrej Pucarević and guests for the citizens of Banja Luka and numerous tourists, officially marked the end of the "Banjalučko Summer" festival, which once again attracted a large crowd this year.
Additionally,
another section of the promenade was completed, this time along the Kastel
Fortress, and for the first time, the City Bridge was illuminated.
According
to the mayor of the largest city in Republika Srpska, Draško Stanivuković,
Banja Luka now boasts a total of six kilometers of developed promenade along
the Vrbas River.
Along
with the illumination of the City Bridge, we have completed another kilometer
of the promenade from the bridge along the Kastel walls and the banks of the
Vrbas. In the coming months, we will begin the renovation of two more towers at
the fortress, and we are preparing to restore the old gun loophole, which will
complete the full restoration of this symbol of our city – stated Stanivuković.
He also announced plans to start the construction of a wastewater collector on the Vrbas River next year.
To remind, this year's "Banja Luka Summer" began with the traditional event "Summer on the Vrbas," which featured the popular jumps from the City Bridge, followed by "Open-Air Cinema," "Dancing Under the Stars," dajak boat races, and free outdoor workouts in Mladen Stojanović Park.
Numerous activities were also organized at the Youth Center, as well as on the developed beaches and promenades along the Vrbas River. The already traditional event "The Great Beginning" saw textbooks distributed to students from fifth to ninth grade, followed by concerts – first by Ana Lazarević, and then by Indira and Kaliopi.
All these events contributed to the city breaking another tourism record, with nearly 56,000 tourists visiting Banja Luka in the first six months of the year.
