The Museum of Herzegovina in Trebinje has received a prestigious award for the best museum among Slavic countries, competing against 20 museum institutions from 10 different countries.
The award was given for the museum's work with the public and its openness, and it was accepted by the Director of the Museum of Herzegovina in Trebinje, Ivana Grujić, and Senior Curator, Ethnologist-Anthropologist Božana Đuzelović, in Gabrovo, Bulgaria, according to a statement from the Museum of Herzegovina.
The jury for the ŽIVA Award, which was established in 2014 by the Forum of Slavic Cultures, visited the Museum of Herzegovina in Trebinje in May and recognized its focus on visitors, the development of cultural tourism, and unique cultural events.
This recognition was also awarded due to the dedication of the museum staff and the museum's rich educational program.
In its conclusion, the jury noted that the Museum of Herzegovina in Trebinje is successful in attracting both local and foreign visitors and in creating a favorable cultural climate in the city, which is evident throughout the region.
