Photographer Igor Simović from Istočna Ilidža, whose work has been recognized with numerous awards, finds inspiration in nature and, as he says, in almost unreal landscapes.
Simović began his photography journey about ten years ago as a hobby. Today, he shares his works on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram.
In an interview with SeeSrpska, he explained that his love for nature fuels his energy for everything he does in life.
"From nature, my love for photography was born, as well as the desire to show as many people as possible the beauty we possess. Many people from both the country and abroad follow me on social media, and through my photos, I encourage them to visit our regions," Igor shared with the portal.
He describes photography as both his passion and therapy for the soul.
While he has received several awards for his work, he values a great photograph more than accolades.
"It’s more important to me that my mind feels rested and my heart full because the combination of nature and photography is the ultimate elixir of youth. I’ve collaborated with many tourist organizations, and one of my goals is to promote domestic tourism. I strive to pass on all my love for nature and photography to my four-year-old son, who accompanies me on all my travels," Simović concludes.
Recently, Igor visited the Romanija mountain, capturing idyllic winter scenes with his camera.
The highest peak of Romanija is Veliki Lupoglav, standing at an altitude of 1,652 meters.
On its southern side, near Pale, lies the famous Novak's Cave, named after the legendary outlaw Starina Novak. On the western side, above Mokro, are the well-known Crvene Stijene (Red Rocks), which have been attracting an increasing number of tourists in recent years.
