The tannin contained in coffee prevents the absorption of
iron in the stomach. It binds iron from plant-based foods such as fruits and
vegetables, causing it to be excreted without being utilized by our bodies.
Especially individuals who already suffer from iron deficiency or are sensitive
to its lack should not drink coffee half an hour after a meal.
