As part of the "From Banja Luka with Love" campaign, you can call the humanitarian number 1414 throughout August to donate 1 KM towards the construction of a house for the temporary and long-term care of children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities.
"The
campaign to raise funds for the construction of the 'Predah' house, which will
provide temporary and long-term care for children, youth, and adults with
developmental disabilities, is still ongoing. Our records show that the number
of children with various difficulties is constantly increasing, which poses an
ever-greater challenge for families," said Milada Šukalo, advisor to the
Mayor of Banja Luka.
The largest city in Srpska has already made progress by introducing day centers, where socialization and professional assistance are provided during working hours.
"However,
the issue of 24-hour care remains unresolved. Our centers offer support, but
for many parents, especially single ones, the challenges of managing daily
responsibilities are enormous. With the launch of this facility, we will be the
first in our country to provide such services. We aim to open this institution
to give parents and families the much-needed 'predah' (respite). Your support
is crucial. Call 1414 and help us build this desperately needed house. Every
donation is a step closer to a safer and happier life for our children,"
emphasized Šukalo.
