The Banjaluka premiere of the documentary film "Here's the Goal," produced and written by Ljubomir Tešinić, will take place on September 3rd at 7:00 PM at the City Stadium in Banjaluka.
This film tells the story of the first "major"
football match in the Republic of Srpska after the signing of the Dayton Peace
Agreement, played between FK Borac Banjaluka and Rudar Prijedor.
Just twenty days after the official end of the war, two
matches were held to determine the winner of the Republic of Srpska Cup—first
in Prijedor and then in Banjaluka. Over 20,000 spectators gathered at the
Banjaluka stadium for the return match.
For the first time in five years, war and politics were not
in the spotlight. Media reported: "Yesterday, weapons spoke here, and
today, football is being played."
"Here's the Goal" is a patriotic film with a strong anti-war message.
At a time when the world is a stage for several war zones,
this anti-war sports story, seemingly local in nature, shows global potential
through which we can promote Banjaluka and the Republic of Srpska. This is a
patriotic film with a powerful anti-war message. Through the football elements
of the final match, the true need to affirm life is reflected. A region, the
Republic of Srpska, once devastated by war and suffering, is now
internationally recognized, becoming a place of hope and future - the
organizers added.
They also emphasize that, in addition to the documentary
film, a three-episode series will be produced, providing more space for the
numerous participants involved in the project.
The film was produced by MLT Media in co-production with
Radio Television of the Republic of Srpska and LM Production, with the support
of the City of Banjaluka.
