Members of the Mountaineering Society "Vilenska vrela" from Kneževo spent the past weekend exploring the mountains Prokletije and Komovi in Montenegro.
This weekend adventure began with a visit to the Đurđevi
Stupovi Monastery in Berane, followed by accommodation at the Božić Katun of
Mikša Ćulafić.
Saturday was marked by climbs to the three peaks of Talijanka (2057m), Popadija (2030m), and Volušnica (1879m), along with a circular hike on the scenic and picturesque trail in the Prokletije National Park.
From this trail, there are breathtaking views of the peaks of Karanfili, Karaula, Trojan, and more.
The second day of this adventure was dedicated to climbing
the Komovi Mountains, known as one of the greatest mountaineering challenges on
the Balkan Peninsula.
A team of nine hikers from the society successfully ascended
Vasojevićki Kom (2461m), navigating the physically and technically demanding
trails, where the renowned botanist Vera Vincok is also honored.
Like every mountaineering adventure, this one brought an
enchanting natural environment, new acquaintances, and friendships, opening up
new horizons.
