All technical conditions have been met, and all checks have been completed, so from today, the via ferrata on Crna Stijena, symbolically named “Mrki Medvjed” (Brown Bear), is officially open for tourists and adventurers.
-Romanija is becoming an increasingly significant tourist destination thanks to the popularity of the 'Sokolov Put' via ferrata on Crvene Stijene. Guided by that experience, we decided to build another via ferrata, providing additional adventurous and adrenaline-filled content to the delight of not only tourists but also hosts and local businesses on Romanija. This gives them an additional opportunity to sell their domestic and traditional products to numerous visitors, said Igor Ikonić, Director of the Tourist Organization of East Sarajevo. He added that the organization would continue working on creating various adrenaline content and further enriching the summer tourist season.
The “Mrki Medvjed” via ferrata is slightly more demanding than the “Sokolov Put” via ferrata, but it is not overly challenging nor requires excessive effort to ascend this steel path. Crna Stijena has long been known among nature lovers as exceptionally attractive, and the beauty of Romanija is especially evident at this location, particularly when viewed from the viewpoint of this rock.
- Now we have two via ferratas on Romanija, via ferratas on Trebević and Ravna Planina, as well as a via ferrata on Treskavica. We have much to be proud of and can freely say that East Sarajevo is becoming a kind of via ferrata center and a city of good entertainment and various adrenaline activities, Ikonić stated, expressing gratitude to the skilled workers and the effort invested by Igor Milošev (the conceptual creator of the via ferrata) and Damir Lukšić.
